Calculation of transport and pedestrian flows in the preparation of documentation for the planning of the territory in the Industrialny and Sverdlovsky districts of Perm

In 2022, upon completion of construction, it is possible to reduce the loading of the road network, mainly due to the redistribution of flows. Redistribution of flows is ensured by the following project solutions:
• development of the street network in accordance with the City Master Plan of the city of Perm;
• development of a tram network in accordance with the City Master Plan of the city of Perm and the Local Norms of Urban Design in the city of Perm;
• development of tram and street-road network in accordance with the design solutions provided for in the draft planning of the territory «Bakharevka»;
• Reduction of traffic intervals on a suburban railway and tram network, taking into account tramway traffic along a dedicated lane.
As a result of the analysis of the future loading of the road network, several problem areas that require detailed study were identified.
Analysis of current and future flows on the transport network allows us to draw the following conclusions:
  1. The existing capacity of the street network is actually exhausted.
  2. The load factor in the cross-sections on the Karpinsky st. and Vasiliev st. reaches 1.0, that provides a «F» level of service. The «F» service level characterizes the state of the transport flow as super-dense, jams are formed on the street network.
